At Grupo Azvi we have dedicated to respecting the environment for the over two decades. This commitment is demonstrated through the implementation of our Aenor certified ISO 14001 standard Environmental Management System across all the countries where we operate. Grupo Azvi has been actively fighting against climate change for years. As a result of the steps taken, we calculated our carbon footprint for the first time in 2014. Since then, and to continue our commitment to climate action, the carbon footprint calculation has been extended to the companies within Grupo Azvi’s different business lines (construction, railway electrification, concessions, urban and environmental services, railway transport and railway maintenance), their permanent establishments, subsidiaries, joint ventures and investee companies, both in Spain and internationally. The calculation is carried out in accordance with the requirements established in UNE-EN-ISO 14064-1:2019 “Greenhouse gases. Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals”, and is verified by AENOR. In order to achieve the climate change objectives set out in our environmental policy, the fourth GHG Emissions Reduction Plan (2026–2030) has been developed. This plan establishes a decarbonization pathway aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement, aimed at limiting global warming to 1.5°C, and with the commitment of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The protection and conservation of biodiversity is of the utmost importance for future generations. At Grupo Azvi we promote measures to prevent and minimise the possible impact on flora and fauna caused by our activities, as well as carrying out compensatory measures: Grupo Azvi’s business model is committed to the principles of the circular economy. We promote the rational use of natural resources and encourage the prevention and recovery of waste as opposed to landfill disposal, through efficient management of various types of waste.
